COVID-19 Update for March 10

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 126 new COVID-19 cases (50 males and 76 females) from the 771 tests conducted on Thursday, March 10.

Of the positive cases, 29 people were under the age of 18 and 97 were 18 years and older.

There were 48 people in isolation facilities, while 1 178 were in home isolation.

As at March 10, the virus had claimed 323 lives.

The public health laboratory has carried out 596 122 tests since February 2020, and recorded 56 805 COVID-19 cases (26 340 males and 30 465 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 160 570 (70.3 per cent of the eligible population). The number of fully vaccinated is 150 255 (55.4 per cent of the total population or 65.8 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older.
