110 new virus cases

There were 110 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, 46 males and 64 females, recorded on Wednesday, March 23, from the 723 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Of the positive cases, 20 people were under the age of 18, and 90 were 18 years and older.

The number of people in isolation facilities was 46, while 856 were in home isolation.

As at March 23, there were 329 deaths from the virus.

The public health laboratory has carried out 606 118 tests since February 2020, and recorded 58 128 COVID-19 cases (26 936 males and 31 192 females).

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 160 869 (70.4 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of fully vaccinated people is 150 788 (55.6 per cent of the total population or 66 per cent of the eligible population).
