Another record for Jonathan Jones

Barbados’ rising 4 00-metre star Jonathan Jones has set another new national record.

Jones, uncorked a lifetime best performance to win the men’s quarter mile at the Big 12 conference in Texas, United States, in a stunning time of 44.43.

It was also a new meet record.

The 23-year-old former Coleridge and Parry and Harrison College student, who now studies at Texas University, held the previous national record of 44.63 set in 2019.

Fellow Barbadian Kyle Gale finished sixth in 45.77 yesterday. He clocked a personal best 45.40 to advance to today’s final. (AGB)
