Six people were injured in a two-vehicle smash-up on Highway 1 in Trents, St James, yesterday afternoon.

Police said the accident occurred around 3:45 p.m. and involved an SUV and a minibus.

Three passengers in the minibus, which was travelling southward, and an equal number in the other vehicle received injuries and were transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.

The SUV was reportedly driven by a female tourist who had to be removed by fire officials using the ‘Jaws of Life’.

Earlier, along Clifton Hall, St John, an SUV and Transport Board bus collided, resulting in a pole and high tension wires hanging along the road. There were no reported injuries. (AGB)
