Man dies following collision

One man died and another was seriously injured on Wednesday following a collision between a car and a lorry along Superlative Road, St George around 8:15 a.m.

Police identified the deceased as driver of the car, Kadeem King, 26, of Waverley Cot, St George.

The injured man was a passenger in the car.

The driver of the lorry was a 46-year-old man.

A statement from police said both vehicles were travelling along Superlative Road in opposite directions when the head-on collision occurred. The car was extensively damaged and both the driver and passenger were extricated by use of the fire department’s “jaws of life” equipment.

Both men were transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) by ambulance, however, King passed away while receiving treatment. The injured man is receiving treatment but is considered in serious condition

King’s death represents the sixth road fatality from five collisions for the year. (PR/KG)
