Four police constables have been awarded the Sylvester Louis Plural Book Prize for going beyond the call of duty during a recent investigation.

Last Friday, the junior officers were showered with praise in the boardroom at Police Headquarters during the fourth instalment of the initiative started by Assistant Commissioner of Police Sylvester Louis, two years ago.

Constable 1768 Jason Leacock, Constable 2137 Kevin Griffith, Constable 2230 Darrel Babb and Constable 2195 Adrian Clarke, from the Holetown Police Station, were identified and recognised for their outstanding work on May 19, in the apprehension of suspect Dave Antonio Husbands who was wanted in connection with investigations into serious criminal matters.

According to police reports, about 3 p.m. on May 19, the officers were on patrol in Fitts Village, St James, when they encountered Husbands. He attempted to evade capture, but the quick work of the officers stopped him.
