No one has been charged as yet with the attack on two church leaders during a Sunday morning service on May 22.
Pastor Gregney Holder and his wife Alison Holder were ministering at the New Testament Church of God in Sion Hill, St James, when the incident occurred.
Eyewitnesses said a man walked into the church and spat on the Holders, who were on the podium, before attacking them. They both sustained injuries and had to seek medical attention. Several items were broken.
At that time, police said a report was made at Holetown Police Station and the alleged perpetrator was in custody assisting with investigations.
Yesterday, acting police public relations officer, Acting Station Sergeant Michael Blackman, would only say no charges had been brought so far.
During a video on the church’s Facebook page shortly after the attack, Alison said: “He came up on this platform, he spat in my face, in the pastor’s face, and he then began to assault the pastor . . . demanding that we stop calling the name of Jesus. He cuffed me all in my face . . . . He has destroyed all of our altar, benches in his rage, but we continue to stand on the power of Jesus Christ.” (CA)
