Producer calls for protocols review

As the sweetest summer festival heats up, at least one event producer is calling on Government to review the criteria for those who want to fete to do so freely.

Executive producer of Nouvelle Vie, Orlando Newton made the call during the media launch of Rise yesterday at Halo Ultra Lounge, St Lawrence Gap, Christ Church.

“We’re still the only industry that is being mandated to follow the ancient protocols that are in place, where our patrons have to be tested or vaccinated in order to enter. I have heard stories of hotel numbers being down, and we are willing to help. All we ask is that we be given the opportunity to help. My Prime Minister always says, ‘we are in this together’, and I believe that we are in all this together,” he said.

Marketing and public relations officer, De Carla Applewhaite said they had made overtures, not only on their behalf but other event producers and promoters as well for a review of the current protocols. (RA)
