COVID-19 Update for July 7

There were 191 new COVID-19 cases, 76 males and 115 females, recorded from the 682 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Thursday, July 7.

The cases consisted of 32 people under the age of 18, and 159 who were 18 years and older.

The number of people in isolation facilities was 51, while 1 512 were in home isolation.

As at July 7, there were 478 COVID-19 related deaths. A 95-year-old man who was partially vaccinated died from the virus on Tuesday.

The public health laboratory has conducted 709 783 tests since February 2020, and recorded 85 679 COVID-19 cases (39 200 males and 46 479 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 680 (71.2 per cent of the eligible population).  The number of fully vaccinated  is 153 644 (56.7 per cent of the total population or 67.3 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
