COVID-19 Update for July 16

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 121 new COVID-19 cases, 64 males and 57 females, from the 452 tests carried out on Saturday, July 16.

The new cases comprised 23 people under the age of 18, and 98 who were 18 years and older.

There were 35 people in isolation facilities, while 1 969 were in home isolation.

As at July 16, there were 479 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 716 065 tests since February 2020, and recorded 87 584 COVID-19 cases (40 025 males and 47 559 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 809 (71.3 per cent of the eligible population).

The number of fully vaccinated is 153 809 (56.8 per cent of the total population or 67.3 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
