Man charged with having nine guns plus ammo

A man accused of having nine guns, including an AR-15 and an AK-47, as well as 1 206 rounds of ammunition, is scheduled to go on trial in November.

Adesina Kijana Crichlow, 37, of Roumaika Court, Dayrells Road, and Brydens Avenue, Brittons Hill, both in St Michael, was in the No. 2 Supreme Court on Monday and was arraigned on a 12-count indictment.

He later pleaded not guilty to having a 9-mm semi-automatic pistol and two rounds of ammunition on January 6, 2018; having a pistol; two .45-auto calibre semi-automatic pistols; a 10mm calibre semi-automatic pistol; one .40 S&W-calibre semi-automatic pistol; an AR-15 .233 Remington semi-automatic gun and 371 rounds of ammunition on January 8, 2018.

He also denied having an AK-47 semi-automatic rifle; an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and 833 rounds of ammunition comprising 199 rounds of .223-calibre ammo; 143 rounds of .45-calibre ammo; 110 rounds of .375-calibre ammo; two rounds of .38-calibre ammo; 29 rounds of .32-calibre ammo; 17 rounds of .25-calibre bullets and 333 rounds of 7.62-calibre ammo, January 10, 2018.

He was represented by Angella Mitchell-Gittens and Queen’s Counsel Andrew Pilgrim, while Senior State Counsel Olivia Davis appeared for the prosecution.

Acting Justice Wanda Blair set November 21 as the date for trial.
