COVID-19 Update for July 24

Barbados recorded 193 new COVID-19 cases, 79 males and 114 females, from the 568 tests conducted on Sunday, July 24, by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The positive cases comprised 32 people under the age of 18, and 161 who were 18 years and older.

The number of people in isolation facilities was 48, while 2 656 were in home isolation.

As at July 24, there were 484 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 723 033 tests since February 2020, and recorded 90 080 COVID-19 cases (41 065 males and 49 015 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 895 (71.3 per cent of the eligible population).

The number of fully vaccinated is 153 915 (56.8 per cent of the total population or 67.4 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
