Colombian national charged

A Colombian national held in a joint drug seizure in Barbados is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

Oswaldo Rafael Acosta Aroca, 58 years, of #20 De Octubre, Santa Marta, Colombia, has been charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, trafficking cannabis, possession with intent to supply cannabis, disembarking without the consent of an immigration officer and entering Barbados other than a port of entry.

He was allegedly held on August 2 during a joint operation between Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago police which netted just over 480 kilos of marijuana, with an estimated street value of  $21 million.

He is scheduled to appear at the District ‘B’ Magistrates’ Court. (PR/SAT)
