COVID-19 Update for September 1

A total of 77 new COVID-19 cases, 43 males and 34 females, were recorded from the 432 tests conducted on Thursday, September 1, by laboratories across the island.

The cases consisted of 12 people under the age of 18, and 65 who were 18 years and older.

There were 81 people in isolation facilities, while 863 were in home isolation.

As at September 1, there were 544 COVID-19 related deaths.

The laboratories conducted 756 003 tests since February 2020, and recorded 101 92 COVID-19 cases (45 827 males and 55 465 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 163 229 (71.5 per cent of the eligible population).

The number of fully vaccinated people is 154 417 (57 per cent of the total population or 67.6 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
