The Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) hailed government’s decision to end the mask wearing and travel protocols related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) at midnight on Thursday in Barbados.

BHTA chairman Renee Coppin had pleaded with government during the association’s quarterly meeting and panel discussion last Friday to remove the remaining COVID-19 protocols because she feared that they may make the island “uncompetitive” as a tourist destination.
