NPC: Possible gas interruption

The National Petroleum Corporation (NPC) has been advised by its supplier, the Barbados National Oil Company Limited (BNOCL) that the supply chain has been interrupted by Tropical Storm Fiona which resulted in structural damage to their suppliers’ loading facility.

On shore storage is currently in use and we are working to increase our supply as soon as possible. A shipment of Liquefied Natural Gas is currently en-route to Barbados. While we await the shipment of natural gas which is due on island at midnight on Friday, October 7 2022. we are advising our customers that they may experience low gas pressure or gas outages from Friday, October 7 2022 until levels return to normalcy around Saturday, October 8 2022.
