President of the Entertainment Association of Barbados, Rudy Maloney, is in support of a second major festival in November.

He said the entertainment business always wanted such an event, which would be good for the economy, especially for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

“It’s good for the country and I think we can build on it and make it a success. If you realise, a lot of the Caribbean islands have more than one festival after carnival, so we need something else to stimulate economic activity,” Maloney said.

In addition to the annual Independence Day Parade, a flood of events, including fetes and cruises are on the calendar. (Nation News)
