Barbadians beaten on day 2 of tennis tourney

The Barbados players in action on day two of the Barbados Cup J4 Tournament at the National Tennis Centre in Wildey, St Michael came out on the losing end.

Number one seed for Barbados, Xavier Peter-Gooding, was knocked out in straight sets 6-3, 6-4. Up against Canadian born Lucca Benoit, he struggled to replicate his strong service game from Monday as he was beaten on Court 5.

American Lev Seidman made light work of second seed Adam King in a straight sets 6-2, 6-1 loss in the 9 a.m. clash on Court 5.

After an exhausting three-setter which lasted three hours and twenty one minutes against Xzavier Hastick, Aidan Clarke did not put up much of a fight in a 6-0, 6-1 loss to American Dillion Beckles.

In the only doubles match played, Kai Owen and Jaden Chandler lost on Court 6 to Dominican Republic duo Jossting Cruz and Giancarlo Rosario 6-1, 6-0.
