Lead investigator Inspector Dwayne Cumberbatch told the No. 3 Supreme Court that murder accused Hakeem Stuart said he was at Sheraton Mall, but he was not the shooter who gunned down Damian Trotman.

Cumberbatch, who was a station sergeant at the time, was giving evidence in Stuart’s murder trial before Justice Carlisle Greaves.

Stuart, 24, of Shelbourne Gap, St Lawrence, Christ Church, has pleaded not guilty to murdering Damian Trotman at Sheraton Mall on March 21, 2019.

Cumberbatch said he and other officers went to the residence of Rico John at Kendal Hill, Christ Church, where he saw Stuart and informed him he had reason to believe he was responsible for Trotman’s murder, which the accused denied.   (RA)
