Don’t keep punishing young people.
Sergeant Kim Harris is instead urging adults to forgive them and to help guide them.
Harris, who works in the Barbados Police Service’s Juvenile Liaison Scheme, was one of three recipients of the Rotary Club of Barbados’ Pride of Workmanship Award. The others were Rachel Pilgrim and Dean Squires who also work with this country’s young people.
The ceremony was held recently at Sandals Royal.
“Sometimes our young people are misunderstood. We cannot continue to punish and punish. We have to show some form of forgiveness. We have to look at reshaping them and this can be done through you. So, I appeal to you for your support and thank you so much,” she said to applause. (Nation News)
