January will not only signal the new year, but a fresh start for some fruit and vegetable vendors who are expected to receive the keys to stalls at the Fairchild Street Market Village in Bridgetown.

“In November we came across some small issues that had to be rectified so we did not want to hand over the keys until we got them solved,” said chief executive officer at Haigh Communications, JoyAnn Haigh, a communications consultant with the Barbados Tourism Investment Inc. (BTII).

“The snagging took a little longer than anticipated and we felt that it would have been disruptive to the vendors and they could have lost some revenue if they moved from where they were placed temporarily so close to Christmas.

“However, in January we will be looking to hand over the keys and we look forward to them conducting their business in the new kiosks.” (Nation News)
