The Democratic Labour Party (DLP) spent yesterday in quiet reflection in remembrance of their founding father Errol Walton Barrow, as they celebrated the holiday in his name.

DLP president Dr Ronnie Yearwood said the celebrations were running smoothly, as people continued to arrive at their George Street, Belleville, St Michael headquarters and shared a drink, a meal, sang karaoke, or just relaxed.

“We’re just hanging out having a lime, having a couple of drinks, some food, other folks are up in St John. We’re spread out all over the country and we’re doing what every other Barbadian family and friend is doing. It’s a time to get together.

“Errol Barrow Day has always been a special day on the calendar for Barbados. It’s a time whether ‘Bee, D, NDP’, everyone unites around the father of Independence, so it’s really good to see people really energised behind all of it this year,” he said. (RA)
