Family, friends and fellow students of the late Jamali Skakeel Kalani “Mali” Morgan gathered yesterday at the Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens in St Peter to bid him a tearful farewell.

The life of the 16-year-old student of Alexandra School was cut tragically short on February 18 when he was fatally stabbed during the Holetown Festival.

The sombre occasion featured songs, Scripture readings and various tributes. It was attended by Member of Parliament for St Peter Colin Jordan and Member of Parliament for St Andrew Dr Romel Springer, which encompasses Moore Hill, St Peter, where Jamali lived.

Many of the congregation wore red shirts with pictures of the youth on it, though they were also a few blue ones. The shirts were also adorned with #shakefuhme and #LLJ, for those who knew him best, as well as “Long live Mali”. (CA)
