The majority of Government bonds issued under the BOSS Plus programme have been taken up, and Governor of the Central Bank, Dr Kevin Greenidge, says $200 million more will soon be issued.

“Each fiscal year, we will put in the market about $200 million and sell them as they are demanded . . . we decided to go with $200 million to start the market, but with this purchase, and this significant show of confidence . . . we only have $11 million remaining out of the $200 million,” he said.

Greenidge was speaking at a signing ceremony on Wednesday where CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank purchased $100 million of the BOSS Plus bonds.

The Governor said this was to be taken lightly, and indicated confidence in Government’s management of the economy and that is was going in the right direction. (Nation News)
