Elderly man perishes in house fire

An elderly man, believed to be in his late 90s, died in a blaze at a house located at Mount Johnson, near Josey Hill, St. Lucy.

The cause of the fire, which was reported around 1 p.m. on Saturday and destroyed the wood and wall property, is being investigated.

Police are still at the scene and have launched an unnatural death investigation.

Eight fire officers responded and extinguished the blaze. (PR/SAT)
