Pinelands stay unbeaten

Unbeaten Pinelands are simply unstoppable in the Cooperators General Insurance BABA Premier League.

They sustained their winning ways by eventually dismissing the challenge from Church Village Spartans 94-80 in Saturday night’s double header at the Barbados Community College.

Pinelands did not have an easy walk to victory in the early stages as Spartans took the lead on a few occasions even if it was by no more than two points.

By the end of the first quarter the score was 18-16 to Pinelands but they gradually pulled away in the last five minutes of the second quarter despite a herculean performance from Spartans’ captain Theo Greenidge who scored 37 points along with four rebounds, five assists and four steals. (DG)
