BICO operators back on the road

BICO mobile operators are back on the road having reached a workable agreement with management of the company.

Operators parked their vehicles after BICO attempted to impose a $68 per week plug-in fee for electricity.

Terry Taitt, one of the independent operators, said a test came in cheaper than the proposed fee.

“So, we have agreed that the operators will pay $0.45 per kilowatt hour until the meters are installed at all of the stations. When the meters are put in, we expect to pay even less because many of the guys don’t charge their equipment for 12 hours per day. This morning all of the guys are back on the job,” Taitt said.

And while that solves one problem, they are also keeping an eye on new contracts they believe the ice cream manufacturer may introduce. (Nation News)
