Kingstown, St Vincent – Police are investigating the death of a 26-year-old woman, whose body was found with apparent chop wounds inside her family home on Carnival Monday.

The authorities have identified her as Sherol Lenteria Phyllis Knights, and in a statement said “preliminary information indicates that Knights was discovered lying motionless in the family home by a relative with what appeared to be chop wounds on her body”.

“The police visited the scene and commenced an investigation. The district medical officer pronounced Knights dead at the scene,” the statement said with the law men saying that an autopsy will be carried out to determine the exact cause of death.

Knights is the second woman from Dorsetshire Hill, on the outskirts of the capital, to have been killed this year.

In February, 26-year-old woman, Purlinea Greaves, died in hospital after being shot in the head as she made her way home.

A 30 year-old man is awaiting trial in that case. (CMC)
