World 400 metres bronze-medallist Sada Williams has once again dropped a season’s best of 50.34 seconds, this time at the Wanda Diamond League in Silesia, Poland.

Williams took fifth position in a quality field which included Polish Natalia Kaczmarek who enjoyed victory before her home crowd in a personal best and meet record 49.48 seconds.

Williams entered the final quarter of the race in fourth, but eventually faded away when her competitors turned on the late burners.

She did not push the issue, instead settling for the season’s best behind Lieke Klaver of Netherlands who finished second in a personal best 49.81 seconds.

Marileidy Paulino of Dominican Republic placed third in 50.00 seconds flat, while Candice McLeod of Jamaica took fourth in a season’s best 50.19 seconds. (RW)
