Mason remanded until August 22

One of the two young men charged with the robbery of ZR driver Marlon Tempro appeared in Court today.

Daniel Mason, 16, of Cane Vale, Christ Church, was remanded to Dodds Prison until August 22.

He is also charged with use of firearm in the incident which occurred on July 16.

Mason appeared before Magistrate Joyann Clarke in the District ‘C’ St Matthias Court. (PR/SAT)

  1. How come he is named? In all other previous cases with persons 16 and under, they are not named. Is it because he can be clearly be identified in the video?

    • Those 16 years and older are treated as adults. Under 16, they are still considered minors and so no names are given.
      It is also the reason why in cases of statutory rape, the perpetrator is not named, so there are no indicators to point to the child/victim.
