Sadam Hussain, who instilled fear in a woman when he snatched her bag, was jailed for 18 months when he reappeared in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court last Friday.

Hussain, a 25-year-old Guyanese mason of Brittons Park, Brittons Hill, St Michael, had pleaded guilty to robbing Tatyana Millington of $150 on June 25, this year.

His attorney Shadia Simpson pleaded with the court to take Hussain’s guilty plea into consideration, as she pointed to his clean record in Barbados.

“My instructions are that he asked for money because he needed money for bus fare,” she said.

The attorney admitted Hussain had no status in Barbados but noted he had spent “some time” on remand. (HLE)
