Barbadian Zane Maloney prevailed over a damp and dreary Circuit Zandvoort to score his joint season’s best result of second place at the end of yesterday’s feature race as the 2023 FIA Formula 2 season’s 11th round of racing concluded in the Netherlands.

Starting fourth on the grid, the Rodin Carlin driver collected his fourth podium finish of a topsy-turvy season in turbulent conditions.

French driver Clément Novalak landed his first victory of the season after starting 13th on the grid while pole sitter Jak Crawford rounded out the podium places.

The Dutch track is slowly becoming a favourite of the 19-year-old as he tasted victory in his last feature race at the venue on his way to becoming vice champion of the 2022 FIA Formula 3 season. (NM)
