His “excellent” pre-sentencing report was one of the reasons why first-time offender Tristan Kemar Scott was given a fine when he appeared in the No. 5 Supreme Court yesterday.
Scott, now 25, but then 19, of Military Road, Bush Hall, St Michael, had pleaded guilty at an earlier Session of the Continuous Sittings to having a 9mm semi-automatic pistol and six rounds of 9mm ammunition on February 23, 2017.
He was represented by attorneys Angella Mitchell-Gittens and Kristin Vanderpool, while Senior State Counsel Joyann Catwell and State Counsel Tito Holder appeared for the prosecution.
Justice Pamela Beckles fined him $20 000 for having the gun and ordered him to pay $10 000 forthwith, with the remainder by December 15, or three years, 193 days in prison in default.
She further fined him $6 000 for having the ammunition, which he must pay by March 15 next year, or spend 193 days in jail. (HLE)
