Southpaw Anderson Harris displayed tremendous resilience and skill to defeat consummate showman Kirt Alleyne 15-21, 21-16, 21-14 and close out a night of entertaining tennis when the Barbados Road Tennis Open moved to Dover, Christ Church, on Saturday night.

Alleyne, a lookalike of Government Minister Kirk Humphrey but without the musculature, assumed all of the antics of a featherweight boxer in entering the arena in the nightcap game with lots of panache.

Dressed in a white T-shirt and a green and white short and well ironed pants, Alleyne behaved as if he had already scored the knockout punch.

However, after taking the first game with great applause from the massive crowd ringing the battle zone, Alleyne incurred the wrath of the spectators and even his coach Darcy “Don” Alleyne.
