Eleven teachers yesterday received the Top TIER award from the Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT).

It was part of Teacher’s Week which is celebrated annually during the last week of October, which is also Education Month.

The Top TIER represents a Teacher who Inspires, Encourages and Respects his or her students and colleagues. The 11 were drawn from both primary and secondary schools.

BUT president Rudy Lovell said: “These 11 teachers are members of the BUT. They possess the qualities indicated by the acronym and were nominated by their peers.”
