Flash flood alert

The Barbados Meteorological Services has issued a flash flood alert for Barbados this Sunday.

It will be in effect from 9:15 a.m. through 6 p.m., but may be discontinued sooner if conditions warrant.

A flash flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than six hours), could result in flash flooding within the watch area, but it does not mean that flooding will occur.

Unstable conditions will continue to affect the island today and into tonight, generating occasional moderate to heavy showers. Rainfall accumulations of one to two inches are possible, with isolated higher amounts. (PR/SAT)
