Bodie Tap faces stern challenge

Hundreds of Barbadians and tourists alike are expected to celebrate this country’s 57 years of Independence with the taste of conkies and an entertaining bumper J.B Simpson and Barbados Thoroughbred Breeders Association Raceday programme tomorrow a the Garrison Savannah.

Taking centre stage on the 10-race card starting at 2:30 p.m., is the 1 570 metres feature John B Simpson Memorial Classic for $30 000 where recent winner Bodie Tap encounters Coolmore Stakes winner So Suave.

Bodie Tap also faces a three-pronged attack from Hopefield Stable in Brilliant News, Renaisance Frolic and Masaru along with Vividly, Sir Jimmy and Zeeko.

The BTBA Breeders Classic over 1 800 metres will see a clash of the creole champions in defending Tanglewood winner and 2021 Triple champion People’s Champ who will settle a score with the 2020 Tanglewood winner, Neilos.  (LY)
