When Danielle Farley saw the name of a guest at the hotel she worked with, she knew she had to name her yet to be born daughter the same.

This is how New Year’s baby Onome came to be named.

Farley said her little bundle was not meant to be born so early in the month but it seemed like she was meant to not only have a special name, but to also be born on a special day.

“I wasn’t expecting her so early, not as soon as the year swings, but I am happy she’s here and healthy and everything went smoothly,” she said, as she rested in her bed at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH).
