Barbados’ most promising 400-metre hurdler Rasheeme Griffith is eyeing up this year’s summer Olympics which takes place in Paris from July 26 to August 11.

The national record holder and three-time CARIFTA Games gold medallist in the 400-metre hurdles, is gearing up for the collegiate indoor season with the University of Tennessee now into his fifth season with the school.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a quite impressive season last year with a fifth-placed finish at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship in 49.17 seconds in June, followed by a Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games silver medal as part of Barbados’ 4×400-metre relay team in a time of 3:02.12 minutes in El Salvador.

His personal best and the Barbados record, however, is 49.00 seconds which came in the semi-final of the NCAA Championship. (RW)
