Barbados risks losing more of its best young talent to overseas employers if bosses in the private and public sectors do not create the culture needed for their organisations and workers to thrive.
Warning that young people “are not interested in a job for life”, or influenced purely by the size of their pay cheque, Caribbean Catalyst Inc (CCI) managing director Rosalind Jackson urged companies to “connect with the generational differences” while “grooming people for the future”.
She was speaking at Hilton Barbados Resort on Thursday evening as Caribbean Catalyst officially launched the evolution of its Barbados’ Best Employers (BBE) programme to Leadership Improving Talent Excellence (LiTE).
“We at Caribbean Catalyst Inc are purposefully and intentionally reinventing what we started as Barbados’ Best Employers in 2010 as a biennial movement,” Jackson said.
