Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley officially opened Barbados’ newest tourism attraction this evening.

The Haymans Market, converted from the former Haymans Sugar Factory in St Peter, is now an entertainment centre, vendors’ market and tourism accommodation.

Mottley said it was the kind of tourism feature, more of which Barbados needs. She said since the island was small, it was important to make maximum use of the land areas.

The Prime Minister also commended chairman of the Sun Group, Bernie Weatherhead, for using capital to invest in the venture and also providing a facility that gives opportunities to small Barbadian business people. (GC)
