Barbadians have been warned to keep an eye out for thunderstorm activity today.

Director of the Barbados Meteorological Services, Sabu Best, in a statement to the media, advised the country that the weather conditions could deteriorate.

“We have observation reports of thunderstorm activity near northern St Michael and southern St James. It is funnel cloud activity,” the senior meteorologist confirmed.

Best noted, however, that there was no confirmation that the funnel cloud touched the ground. “We want the public to be very vigilant at this time, especially the residents in St Michael, St James, St Thomas and St George, as thunderstorm activity is possible throughout the day.”

He advised, however, that there was no confirmation of tornado activity.
