New High Court judge sworn in

BARBADOS’ NEWEST High Court judge Dr Herbert Patrick Wells, has vowed to protect the constitutional rights and uphold the rule of law.

He made that promise yesterday after he took the oath of office before President The Most Honourable Dame Sandra Mason, and witnessed by Chief Justice Sir Patterson Cheltenham and relatives, at State House.

“My singular goal is to serve the people of Barbados, to uphold the rule of law and the proper administration of justice in the best way that I can, and also to protect the constitutional rights of the citizens of this country.

“I look forward hopefully to a productive sojourn in service to the nation of Barbados,” Justice Wells said.
