In observing Caribbean Mosquito Awareness Week, the team of the Ministry of Health’s Vector Control Unit will be focusing on St Michael and Christ Church districts when they conduct their fogging exercise this week.

The team will venture to Christ Church the next day to tackle several communities including Dayrells Road, Brathwaite Gap, Gooding Road, Plum Close, Overdene Drive, Ventnor Gardens, and the environs.

A return to that parish on Wednesday, May 15, will see fogging at Gibbons Boggs, Pegwell Boggs Main Road, Ealing Grove, Sebago Drive, Alexis Drive, Casuarina Drive, Semicircular Drive, and neighbouring districts.

Then on Thursday, May 16, the Unit will finish up Christ Church when Wilcox Ridge, Gibbons Terrace, Platinum Heights, Wilcox Hill, and Holbourne Terrace are targeted.

The fogging programme will conclude on Friday, May 17, in the following St Michael districts of Pleasant View Drive, Ozone Drive, Sunrise Close and Drive, Windy Ridge, Country View Drive, Cane View Drive, Fair Winds Drive, Providence, Highway R and the environs.

Fogging takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter.

Members of the public are advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the unit’s control. In such circumstances, the unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time. (PR/KNB)
