The young killer who pumped three shots into his victim as that man lay on the ground and then kicked him in the head was sentenced to life in prison by the No. 3 Supreme Court yesterday.

Justice Carlisle Greaves further ordered that Jandolph St Clair serve a minimum of 20 years before he could be considered for release.

“My interpretation of the facts suggests this was an execution, a murder carried out in vengeance, and the law must never tolerate vengeance,” the judge told the killer.

“This was a reckless disregard – a total disregard for life – committed with a degree of arrogance and spite,” Justice Greaves told St Clair.

“It is said one should never kick a man when he is down. In this case, even as the victim lie on the ground, [St Clair] had the audacity to kick him in his head. The arrogant nature of your execution cannot be justified,” the judge said.

St Clair, of Hilton Row, Princess Royal Avenue, The Pine, St Michael, was back before the court yesterday for sentencing after he had pleaded guilty to murdering Jamar “Red Dog” Haynes on October 26, 2019.
