The legendary Troubadours International featuring Mike Thompson and Mickey Dee will end off their spectacular with a final performance at Platinum Soca tomorrow. This event will also showcase the talents of ten-time calypso monarch Red Plastic Bag, Pic O De Crop finalist Biggie Irie, the people’s queen TC, the king of the road Mighty Grynner, the dynamic duo of Mikey and Blood, along with Adrian Clarke, Mac Fingall and two-time calypso monarch Classic.

The event is set for the Barbados Yacht Club and while it is a celebration of musical legends,  it is also a significant fundraiser for the Barbados Association of Retired Persons (BARP).

The funds raised will support BARP’s exemplary work in assisting the elderly community in Barbados, from personal care services to educational initiatives and elderly care.

“Our mission is to ensure that our elderly receive the care and respect they deserve,” said Marilyn Rice-Bowen, president of BARP. “This event is crucial in helping us continue our work in multiple areas, from providing personal care to educating families on elderly care. We are incredibly grateful for the support from Platinum Soca and all the performers.”

For fans of the Troubadours International, this performance marks a bittersweet milestone. Hallam Nichols, chairman of TEAM Inc, reflects on the significance of this final performance: “The Troubadours International have been a cornerstone of our cultural heritage. This will be the last chance to see them perform live, making this event a truly historic occasion. We encourage everyone to come out, celebrate, and support a worthy cause.” (PR)
