PARIS, France – The fastest woman alive over the 200m, Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson has pulled out of the event in the Paris Olympics due to injury.

It is understood that Jackson is still not fully recovered from the injury that forced her to withdraw from the 100m earlier at the Games.

Jackson had been scheduled to compete in heat three of the 200m but was a late scratch.

Concerns swirled around Jackson’s fitness ahead of the Olympics after she pulled up with an apparent injury in the women’s 200m at the Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix earlier this month. Jackson, who was leading the race with about 50 metres to go, pulled up and limped across the finish line.

It is unclear whether Jackson will be able to compete in the 4x100m relay. (Jamaica Observer)
