Police identify road fatality victim

The Barbados Police Service has identified the victim of the fatal road accident that occurred earlier today on Welches Road, Christ Church, as 22-year-old Tishana Jamelia Ward of Husbands, St. James.

Around 12:15 p.m., emergency services responded to reports of a serious accident. On arrival, personnel from the Oistins Police Station confirmed that the accident had resulted in a fatality.

The accident involved a motorcycle driven by a male rider with Ward riding pillion. The motorcycle collided with a Barbados Police Service vehicle on the sidewalk.

The male rider sustained injuries and was immediately transported by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) for treatment. The officers inside the police vehicle were not injured.

The circumstances leading to the accident are still under investigation.

Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward as they continue to investigate the incident.
