The Democratic Labour Party (DLP) will be getting a new Senator to replace Tricia Watson.

During his address at the 69th Annual Conference earlier this evening at the DLP’s George Street, St Michael headquarters, Opposition Leader Ralph Thorne made the announcement.

“In the event that I did not hear myself above your applause, I repeat. I announced that Senator [Ryan] Walters would be joined by a new Senator when the Honourable The Senate resumes its business in September 2024,” he said to more applause.

Thorne did not announce the new name, nor did he speak to the status of Watson who was the Leader of Opposition Business in the Upper House. She was absent from the last sitting on August 21.

Watson attended the church service on Sunday morning.

She and Walters were sworn in on February 13, 2024. (SAT)
