Nation Podcast: Andrea Franklin’s vision for tourism

Explaining the decision appoint Andrea Franklin to head Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc four months ago, Minister Tourism and Transport Ian Edghill described the chief executive officer as “a homegrown, well-educated and experienced tourism and hospitality practitioner who through the ranks to reach the top post in Barbados”.

While still settling into the CEO’s chair she has been occupying since April 1, Franklin is determined to position agency to bring higher visibility to the Barbados tourism product and to the island in a way that brings greater economic returns.

At her BTMI office, we sat down with Andrea as she outlined her vision for the tourism industry.
